EFSA Approved Red Yeast Rice Ingredients

A complete range of European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) approved red yeast rice, or Monascus purpureus, ingredients have been developed by ProTec Nutra for use in food supplements and the fortification of food products. ProTec Nutra will distribute the ingredients including red yeast rice powders, granules, beadlets and filled capsules in both standard and organic formulas. The product contains standardized levels of Monacolin K, the molecule credited with a “statin like” performance to naturally reduce LDL cholesterol. Red yeast rice was recently granted a positive opinion for the reduction of blood LDL cholesterol by EFSA.
